Easier way to 65k gold

Tonight I noticed the new kingdom v. Kingdom event for research, building, training, and monster kill.  They buffed the points rewarded for training troops.  They basically doubled them all.  Take a look.

However, the requirements for gold and top prize remain the same. Excellent!

The rewards for this event are great as week and now much easier to achieve:

Getting started...

I will briefly explain how I begin my accounts, be it a hyper farm or main account.

First, start a new game.  If you are beginning a second account be sure to register your first account with MZ.

Top of screen, 3rd icon from left "Account and Devices."

Here, you can register your email to your account so you are able to log out of the account and switch to a second.  You will then repeat this process for each account you create.  Each account must have a different email address.  Any questions on how to go about managing numerous emails please contact me.

Once you've registered, MZ will send you a verify email which you simply click a link and done.  Now open GOW and choose "start new game."  Follow the tutorial until it allows you to begin your own building.

The first thing we want to do is complete the "Build 10 of each" quests.  Let's start by building 10 farms.

Once you have built the 10 farms, tear down 5 of them.  Click on the farm and choose deconstruct.  Should be a free timer to finish it quickly.  Next, let's build the logging camps.  Again, tear down 5 of them.  Then build 10 stone quarries.   Tear down 5 of those.  Next, build 10 mines.  You have now a rural landscape that looks similar to this:

Note: if you are building a hyper farm then whichever resource you wish to focus on should be the final camp type you build 10 of.  In this example, this will be a hyper farm for ore. So I built 10 mining camps last.  I recommend a balanced rural (outside of walls) landscape to help with resources as you build your stronghold levels.

Next, we will build the urban (inside walls) landscape.

First, build 10 villas.  I try to build my villas around the outside perimeter.  Allow those to stay.  Next, build 10 barracks.

Tear down all but one barracks.  You will notice now I've completed quite a bit of quests.  I'm at 41k power with nearly 200k of each resource.  The next step is to build 10 hospitals.

Now destroy all but one of those hospitals.  At this point, your build preference depends on what this account will be used for.  I'm using this account for an ore and silver hyper farm.  So, I filled remaining tiles with a gymnos for hero experience, marketplace for sending resources, forge as required for upgrades, and the remaining tiles are villas for silver.

As you can see above, I'm very close to 50k power and it only took about 30 minutes.  I'm at sh 4 with the use of some speed ups.  I've got all tiles filled except marketplace which I'll get at sh 5.  Now I'll focus on getting this account to stronghold 14 as fast as possible.  Later, I'll craft items that boost silver production and I'll reskill my hero points to solely silver and rss production.  Enjoy and good luck!

Coliseum gathering event trick!

Today I was in the coliseum trying to complete the gathering event for which I needed 8 million points in about an hour.

A friend, Mopar Lar, explained that you can send your marches out to gather in your home kingdom, port to the coliseum, then recall them for credit before event ends.  So I tried it.

Here, I've set my marches on five level 5 food tiles because as you can see above I receive 2 points for each food collected.

I've got all 5 marches collecting in k94.

Meanwhile, I port to our coliseum k126.

Just before the event ends I start recalling my marches.  Here is where it gets a bit tricky but fun.  The original march time was 5.5 hours.  However, I had a +200 march speed boost and some griffon feathered sandals.  I was able to cut the march time down to 8-10minutes to beat the end of the event timer.

Here, the marches are reaching my stronghold and I'm laughing to the bank!  On this particular event I was able to reach top prize in the inferno event and I hit silver in the 24 hour solo collecting event as well!

In short, if you have the march speed ups this is an easy and fun trick to gain some great prizes in the coliseum.  If I had to do it over I'd set my marches on food tiles and waited to port when they were very close to full.  They would begin their 5 hour march to the coliseum.  I would then wait for the gathering event to start and speed them up.  Once they arrive, 10 minutes into event, I would then try to gather inside the coliseum until close to end of event.  With the method I used I placed 50th on leaderboard, but had I planned a bit better I think I could have placed much higher.

Give it a try!  I was able to get around 10m points!

I recently completed a coliseum casino event with some very decent prizes.  It also helped my depleted speed up supply.

Casino chips for silver

I'm curious what the general price is across kingdoms for silver.  I've sold 21 M for 600k chips on the regular.  I've seen posts about other kingdoms selling 10 M for 600k.  That's a great deal for the seller!  I tried 15 M for 600k today and was told it was too expensive.  The guy responding said he sold 65 M for 15k gold or equivalent of  about 950k chips.  I think he's too cheap or isn't able to sell that often.  What's your price?

Winning Game of War without spending money...

At first blush it seems the only path to achieving great success in GoW is through your credit card.  I have a different way.
Through the use of hyper farming and resource trading for profit I've been able to accumulate a good deal of gold and speed ups to increase power quickly and steadily.
To be sure, spending real money is faster but long term success is going to rely on developing some type of business operation in game unless of course you are one if the 1% of the world with 90% of the wealth. In which case, please gift me casino chips please?

Tips on Monster Gems

Possible trick for gems u get from the monsters:  It looks like there is more value in the gems if you don't combine them. Example, lvl 1 gem is max energy +100, but if you combine lvl 1 x 4 to lvl 2, you only get +150, vs 400 if not combined. Then when u run out of room, you could combine them later w gems savers to make room for other gems. ~ Sappho Queen

New kvk kill event

The latest kvk kill event rewards points for gathering and killing.  I wonder how many poor souls will lose their armies this weekend attempting to collect enough resources for the gold?

Hero skill points

How to place hero skill points?

Peace Time
I focus my hero points in construction, research, troop training 1, then any other resource my stronghold is setup to produce.

I don't bother with gathering skill because I don't send my hero out to gather because of the risk of him being taken.  Besides, he only boosts one march at a time.  Honestly with all my hyper farming I don't do much gathering now.  If I do it is with T1 or T2 only.  But that is a different subject.

War Time
Points placement will depend on your play style as mentioned in other posts.  Are you attacking or defending mostly?  For defensive, "anvil" strategy you will want to focus points in trap attack, troop health, and defense.  Then choose 2 of the three combat types: Calvary, ranged, infantry.

Politics of Game of War

It is astonishing how much of a game of politics gow is as much as a game of war. This month my alliance has experienced a split followed by dropping our family ties to a big three alliance. The details of the ordeal are not important for our purposes but a learning point can be made here.

As you grow in power you may begin to feel that you have outgrown your alliance. You may be recruited by a bigger alliance as well. This is where the politicking begins. You will likely feel dedicated to the alliance you have been with for so long as they have provided you countless rss and lessons on the game. You could stay and teach the next guy, give back a bit to your alliance or go and continue to grow and take your gaming to the next level, more kvk, rallies, and less FarmVille atmosphere.

I've found that no matter what you choose to do, that you are honest and direct about your decision. A simple explanation goes a long way. It may prevent a bridge from burning that you will need in the future to cross back over....

Anvil strategy

[Ddm] Stuxnet posts a strategy from that is effective for Tier 3 troops. I used a similar strategy and still do with the addition of t4. However, as your power level goes up as a result of t4 research it is more likely you will be rallied if attacked at all. So it's a great strategy to use at lower power levels when you can seriously shock folks. Enjoy!

Benchmarking

Last night, through mostly frustration and boredom, I did a benchmark test of sorts on my stronghold.

We are currently in a Kingdom vs. Kingdom with K24 Terra.  After porting and burning their kingdom for 6 hours I had accumulated 20M of each resource and a couple dozen heroes, two of which I could execute.  However, I rarely killed or hospitalized any troops.  So, I was only halfway to gold in the event.

I decided I would just park my strong hold in our forest and wait.  I eventually nodded off and woke up at about 3 am to discover I was surrounded by outlanders.  The rally went off and I had just enough time to pop a +75% attack bonus.

It was a full T4 tier four and tier 4 strat rally with limited meat shield or lower tier troops.  I'll attempt to post the report.

Hyper Farm

I've decided to switch my main 21 stronghold into a hyper farm by destroying the majority of my farms for a different resource.  I figure with my plan to mass produce a large tier 4 army I will not be able to keep up with upkeep anyway soon so why have so many farms?

I'll start by tearing down lowest level farms and replace them with logging camps which is the least capacity at the moment and least resource I have or get from casino apparently.  I've not decided if I'm going to go completely for one, two or three resources yet.

I finished setting up the new tile format and went with a mix of resource type, but mostly wood.  I figured I had many items of ore left from the marathon of casino events from the past so I didn't build many mines.  Also, wood seems to be the most scarce resource in my kingdom.

Lastly, it takes 5 million of each resource so I attempted to get all three type's capacity as close to 5 million as possible.  Wood production is nearly 7 million capacity.

I work with 7 other hyper farms producing over 20 million silver a day and various millions of the other types of resource.  So, together I'll hopefully be able to rapidly train tier 4.

My new issue will be speed ups.

Gathering kingdom event

So today I log in to see a new kingdom event. 20k gold and various other speed ups for gathering and killing monsters. I was initially excited, but as I post this an outlander is attacking one of my farms. The walls that protect the kingdom from other kingdoms will be dropped during kingdom events now. At first I did not let this deter me. I need 40m points to obtain the top prize.

So, I set out to farm some food because it will provide 2 points per resource. Not long after I settle in, I'm scouted by an outlander and then a march is sent. I'm using anti scout, so he has no idea what I have there, but I leave anyway.

Basically, this event is not so appealing. I can farm for points and risk losing troop power, or just sit in my stronghold and wait it out all weekend, or go to their kingdom and farm their strongholds... Either way there will be no farming of resources. Dumb event if you ask me.

Hyper farming

Today I calculated that I over a billion food items I can use under the resource tab. I obtained all these items during the casino bonanza a couple months ago. With that being said, I am wondering if I should destroy my farms producing food in my main stronghold and build a different type of resource producing tile such as ore, stone, or wood. My upkeep will eventually outgrow my farms anyway once I mass produce tier 4 troops. However, at the moment I'm keeping up with the food needs of my troops. If I destroy my farms I can just click use and receive food from resource tab or take from farms. My stronghold 21 can produce some incredible resources if I hero skill it properly and maxed all tiles to 21.

Tier 4 troops

I've obtained tier 4 troops and have begun the training of each type. For 5,000 troops it requires 5 m of two of the rss type and 2.5 m silver. Not cheap, but hopefully worth it. I'm finishing research of war elephants tonight and will likely try to start onagers next. The plan is to do T4 walls next.

Queen of Kingdom

Today I logged in to read the report that the current queen of the kingdom (IM) WildxChild had attacked me over the course of the night bringing my total traps to zero and totally hospitalizing my troops. So today I'm focused on research and building.
